Google Pixel devices are known for their seamless Android experience, and one of the best features they offer is something called "Now Playing". For those who may not be familiar, Now Playing is a feature that allows your phone to automatically detect and identify the song that is currently playing in the background, be it from a nearby speaker or from another device.
This feature may not seem like much at first, but trust me, once you get used to having it, you can easily become addicted. Being able to identify a song that you hear in a store or at the gym can be incredibly convenient, and it can also introduce you to a lot of new music that you may not have discovered otherwise.
However, by default, accessing Now Playing on a Google Pixel device requires you to go into the "Sound & vibration" settings, which is a bit of a hassle. Luckily, though, there is a hidden shortcut that allows you to access Now Playing with just one tap, making it a lot more convenient to use.
So, how does this hidden shortcut work? Well, the first thing you need to do is make sure that the Now Playing feature is enabled on your device. To do this, you'll need to go into the "Sound & vibration" settings, then scroll down to the "Now Playing" section, and toggle the switch next to "Identify songs playing nearby" to the on position.
Once you've enabled Now Playing, you can access it with just one tap by adding a special shortcut to your home screen. To do this, you'll need to tap on and hold on a empty space on your home screen until the "Widgets" tab appears at the bottom of the screen. From there, scroll down to the "Settings" widget, and select it.
After selecting the "Settings" widget, you'll see a list of all the different settings options that you can add a shortcut for. Scroll down to the "Now Playing" option, and select it. You can then drag and drop the Now Playing shortcut to wherever you want it on your home screen, whether that's on the home panel, in a folder, or even in the dock.
And that's it! With the Now Playing shortcut on your home screen, you'll be able to easily identify any song that is playing nearby with just one tap. This is especially useful in situations where you need to quickly identify a song, such as when you're watching a movie or TV show and you hear a song that you like.
So there you have it, folks. The ability to access Now Playing with just one tap is a game-changer for Android users, and it's definitely worth taking advantage of. And the best part is, this hidden shortcut works on not just Google Pixel devices, but on any Android device that has the Now Playing feature.
