+20 from One Player Alone: Kentucky Women Earn Dominant 87-45 Win

December 10, 2024

The No. 16 Kentucky women's basketball team put on a show Monday night, earning a dominant 87-45 win over Queens University. Georgia Amoore led the charge with an impressive 20 points, while Amelia Hassett added 19 to help secure the victory.

The game was all but over by the end of the first quarter, as Amoore's hot start propelled the Wildcats to a commanding 29-9 lead. She scored nine points in the quarter, setting the tone for a Kentucky team that looked nearly unstoppable.

The Queens University Royals, meanwhile, struggled to find their footing against a stingy Kentucky defense. The Wildcats' aggressive press and half-court defense held the Royals to just nine points in the quarter, setting the stage for a long night ahead.

As the game wore on, Hassett began to heat up, scoring 19 points to help Kentucky pull away. The Wildcats' offense was clicking on all cylinders, with ball movement and player movement creating open looks and easy baskets.

Defensively, Kentucky was just as impressive, holding the Royals to 45 points on the night. The Wildcats' defense was active and aggressive, using their quickness and athleticism to harass Queens' ball handlers and create turnovers.

The win improves Kentucky's record, solidifying their position as one of the top teams in the country. With games against top-ranked opponents still on the horizon, the Wildcats will look to continue their winning ways and make a deep run in the NCAA tournament.

For now, though, they'll take a moment to celebrate a dominant win and the stellar play of Amoore and Hassett. The two combined for 39 points, leading the Wildcats to a 42-point victory.

The Wildcats' next game is sure to be highly anticipated, and fans will be eager to see if they can continue their winning ways. One thing is certain, though: with Amoore and Hassett leading the charge, Kentucky is a team to be reckoned with this season.
