While the popularity and widespread use of tinted windows suggest that it's an innocent styling preference, the restrictions surrounding it in California reveal a more practical safety consideration. California regulations maintain window tints must not attenuate light transmittance to a level lower than 26% for windscreens, headlights, or windscreen wipers.

Unfortunately, dark tints obstruct visibility for drivers, especially during early mornings or nighttime. Light transmittance of less than 26% puts California motorists at a disadvantage in terms of optical conditions necessary for the recognition of people and the surroundings while driving, especially in situations with little lighting.

3. Excessive Lifts

These regulations dictate that the lowest point of any part of the vehicle shall not be more than 2.5 inches from the ground. Besides adhering to this benchmark, all California regulations on elevation explicitly disqualify suspension components that may serve the objectives of greater ground clearance more reliably.

4. High-Intensity Headlights
