As the film hits the screens, Anoop opened up to Mid-Day about his experiences, the challenges he faced, and his undying passion for historic roles.

In a candid conversation, Anoop disclosed that his affinity for playing historic characters stems from his ardent love for history. "I have always been fascinated by the lives of yesteryear icons, and I believe that the stories of their struggles and triumphs have the power to inspire and educate our generation."

Anoop further emphasized that this generation is not just a fan of Hollywood or Bollywood, but a larger fan of quality cinema, be it Korean or any other language. The increasing popularity of non-Indian cinema and OTT platforms have made the audience more receptive to stories that are rooted in history and culture.

His role as Sambhaji Maharaj in the newly released film holds a special place in his heart. Anoop revealed that he had to undergo rigorous training to master the intricacies of the Maratha language and to get into the skin of the character. "I read several books, met with historians, and even learned the nuances of sword fighting to bring authenticity to my performance," he confessed.

However, with the territory of playing historic roles comes the risk of being typecast. Anoop acknowledged his fear of being confined to a particular genre but expressed his willingness to experiment and take up diverse roles in the future. "I want to prove my versatility by playing characters that are different from each other. I don't want to be categorized as just a historical actor or a specific type of actor," he said.
