BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — In an electrifying display of skill and determination, Avery Johnson, the star quarterback of the No. 18 Kansas State Wildcats, engineered a dramatic comeback against the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday night.

Trailing in the final minutes of the game, Johnson found himself facing an uphill battle, especially after throwing a costly interception that could have potentially sealed the win for the Buffaloes.

But Johnson, known for his clutch gene and unwavering confidence, refused to let his team down. With just over two minutes left on the clock, he led his team onto the field, ready to face whatever lay ahead.

The crowd held its collective breath as Johnson dropped back, surveying the field with laser-like focus. Then, in a flash of brilliance, he spotted Jayce Brown streaking down the sideline, a step ahead of the Colorado defense.

Without hesitation, Johnson launched the ball deep down the field, finding Brown in perfect stride. The receiver hauled in the pass and sprinted into the end zone, scoring a 50-yard touchdown that would prove to be the game-winner for the Wildcats.

The extra point attempt was good, and No. 18 Kansas State celebrated a hard-fought 31-28 victory over the Buffaloes.

As for Johnson, he was mobbed by his teammates, basking in the adoration of the crowd. It was a signature performance from a quarterback who continues to make his case as one of the best in the country.

The win marked a significant turnaround for the Wildcats, who struggled to find their rhythm in the early going. But Johnson's heroics helped to turn the tide, and Kansas State was able to pull away for the thrilling victory.

For Colorado, the loss was a tough pill to swallow. The Buffaloes fought valiantly, only to fall just short of their first major upset of the season.

Despite the loss, there were plenty of positives to take away for the Buffaloes, who will look to regroup and refocus in the coming weeks.

For now, though, the spotlight belongs to Avery Johnson and the No. 18 Kansas State Wildcats, who proved once again why they are a force to be reckoned with in the world of college football.
