Bethesda's Been Super Busy - Here's Everything New in Starfield Since Launch!

September 21, 2024

Ever since Starfield launched in September of last year, Bethesda has been steadily updating its giant space adventure. With the new expansion Shattered Space approaching, we wanted to go over everything they’ve added since launch.

While pretty much every patch comes with its own round of quest fixes, bug fixes, and stability improvements, we’re just gonna go over the major changes Bethesda has brought to Starfield.

One of the first major updates to the game was the rollout of new surface maps for players to explore. Multiple planets and moons received updated terrain, allowing for even more realism when exploring the vastness of space. This update also included additional points of interest, quests, and secrets to uncover.

Another significant addition to the game was the inclusion of new vehicles. Fans of space travel know that exploration isn’t just about walking around on planets; sometimes it requires a little bit of speed. Bethesda introduced multiple spacecraft models, allowing players to have more diversity when it comes to traversing the galaxy.

Of course, space travel wouldn’t be complete without proper combat. Bethesda included new mission types focused on piloting these spacecraft in ship-to-ship combat, testing the player’s skills as a commander of a spaceship. Added to these combat missions were quests that allowed players to become allies with other space-faring factions, opening up more story paths for the player.

For fans of modding, Bethesda also rolled out official modding tools for the game. This update allowed the community to start sharing and creating all sorts of custom content. Players could customize anything from new player characters to overhauling gameplay mechanics.

Beyond just these main updates, the game has also received numerous smaller updates. Most of these aimed at polishing the player experience, including tweaking movement controls, graphical improvements, and minimizing bugs.

Starfield has clearly had an incredible amount of post-launch support, showing the devotion that Bethesda has to its player base. Fans will surely be eager to see what the Shattered Space expansion has in store for them. But with everything added since the initial release of Starfield, there’s more than enough to keep them occupied in the meantime.
