The Philippine Hotel Owners Association (PHOA) and Leechiu Property Consultants (LPC) have joined forces to launch the highly anticipated Philippine Accommodation Pipeline Report 2024, an inaugural report that delves into critical data on hotel, resort, and other accommodation projects in the country.
The report, released this month, aims to arm hotel owners, tourism stakeholders, and government policymakers with crucial information and insights to make well-informed decisions that could significantly shape the growth and development of the country's tourism and hospitality industry.
PHOA President Arthur Lopez emphasized the importance of this report, stating that it would enable the industry players to make informed decisions, which, in turn, would have a profound impact on the country's tourism sector. Lopez added that "having access to accurate, reliable, and timely information is crucial for sustained growth and long-term success in the competitive hospitality industry."
The report is the collaborative effort of PHOA, which boasts 67 member companies with a total of 227 member hotels, offering over 40,000 rooms, and LPC, a reputable property consulting firm that helps investors and developers unlock the value of emerging locations, ensuring sustainable growth and long-term success.
According to LPC Chairman David Leechiu, a diverse range of stakeholders, including hotel developers, hotel operators, design consultants, and government units, have contributed to the data-gathering process, reflecting the "spirit of collaboration and shared resolve" prevalent in the industry.
The Philippine Accommodation Pipeline Report 2024 offers a comprehensive overview of the current hotel, resort, and other accommodation projects in the country, including the total number of hotel projects, room keys, classification breakdowns, indicative investment costs, and jobs generated.
Both PHOA and LPC plan to publish the report annual and encourage hotel owners and accommodation providers to participate actively in this initiative. Their cooperation and input are "crucial in ensuring that we continue to deliver robust and dynamic data that reflects the evolving trends and opportunities within our sector," a joint statement from both organizations added.
To provide an annual benchmark, the report is expected to chart the progress of accommodation projects in the country and generate meaningful discussions among industry players, enabling them to identify opportunities and challenges in the fast-paced hotel and tourism landscape.
PHOA President Arthur Lopez, who has been instrumental in shaping the industry's future and promoting sustainable tourism practices in the country, highlighted that this invaluable resource will undoubtedly contribute significantly to the industry's health, resilience, and growth.
As the industry continues to undergo significant transformation in response to shifting market demands, sustainability concerns, and technological advancements, the Philippine Accommodation Pipeline Report 2024 offers an indispensable assessment of the current and future landscape of the Philippine hotel, resort, and other accommodation sectors.
Stakeholders interested in acquiring more information on the report or seeking further collaboration can contact Minoll Alano, PHOA operations manager, at [email protected].
