BioWare Unleashes the Ultimate Seduction: Steamiest Romance in Dragon Age History Revealed

September 25, 2024

Hot on the heels of its highly anticipated release, Dragon Age: The Veilguard has been making waves in the gaming community with its incredible character customization options, immersive storyline, and yes - steamy romances. IGN had the chance to sit down with the folks at BioWare to dive into what makes The Veilguard tick, specifically when it comes to character relationships and those tantalizing romances weve come to expect from the series.

According to BioWare, the team worked tirelessly to take relationships to the next level, making sure that your interactions with party members are more meaningful than ever before. "We really tried to think about what makes a relationship, and how we can represent that in the game," says a representative from BioWare. "That's something that we spent a lot of time on, and I think we did some really cool things.”

One of the key features in The Veilguard that will make relationships more dynamic is the ability to craft memories and conversations that feel uniquely specific to your characters experiences. This adds an extra layer of realism and authenticity to your interactions, allowing you to build stronger bonds with your party members. BioWare director also elaborated on why there are no plans for DLCs, giving an unusual explanation. 'No DLC' is the 'new approach', says the director to GamesRadar. The idea presumably, is to prevent developers from holding back key story components to sell later as add-ons, something that can happen when DLC is a key revenue stream. This strategy comes at a time where gamers have come to question the long term impact of games designed to sell, also known as "games-as-a-service,” particularly for the companies involved who just happen to also generate hundreds of billions of dollars annually.
