Samsung has just dropped a critical update for millions of its Galaxy S24 phones, with users advised to check and download the latest patch ASAP. The tech giant has issued the urgent security update to fix several vulnerabilities found in the device's software, including some that could be exploited by hackers to take control of phones remotely.
The update, which weighs in at around 500MB, is now live and rolling out to Galaxy S24 devices globally. Users can check for the update by going to their phone's Settings app, then clicking on 'Software update', followed by 'Download and install'.
While Samsung hasn't revealed too much about the nature of the vulnerabilities, the company did say that they posed a 'critical' risk to phone security, meaning users should update their devices as soon as possible to avoid exposure.
This isn't the first security update Samsung has pushed out for the S24 series, with several other patches already released this year to address various vulnerabilities and bugs. But given the severity of these latest finds, users are advised to take immediate action to safeguard their devices.
Meanwhile, the company is urging users to keep their phones and software up to date, as these updates often contain important security fixes and patches for emerging threats.
If your Galaxy S24 phone hasn't already notified you about the update, be sure to manually check for it and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. Don't wait - get protected today.
