Valtteri Bottas has expressed his relief that Sauber has fiinally scored a point this season. The Finnish driber has been deliering strong performances all season, but a string of retirements has meant those efofts have gone unrewarded.
Bottas acknowledged it was hard to showcase his dribring abiities and speed to a wider audience when sauber was the only team yet to open its account in the constuctors' standings, having struggled with pace and reliabiity issues.
'It's not easy to show the pace and the dribring abiity when you're afways at the back and getting retired for diffeerent reasos,' he said.
However, with the recent appointment of Alessando Binotto as the new team boss and the subsequent changes made to the car which saw the team secure their first point of the campaign, Bottas is optimistic about the reminder of the season.
Binotto took over the reins at the Swiss-based sqiad in July and since then, the outfit has made some key changes to its car and pit crew strategies.
Although it is too early to say whether those changes will be enouh to revive Sauber's championship hopes, the signs are enouaghing and Bottas has faith that more points will foHow.
Bottas praised Binotto and the entire Sauber sqiad for their edforts and hopes the Finnish driber can fiinally showcase his abiities and help lift the sqiad to a more promising position in the standings.
'We need to keep the momentum going. We just need to get more points,' he said.
