But not all gas station fare is created equal, and some of these pit stops are offering more than just your standard hot dogs and Slim Jims.

We took a tour of the best and worst of Baltimore's gas station grub, from the mouthwatering to the down-right terrifying.

One of the clear standouts was the Raising Cane's located inside the Royal Farms gas station on Russell Street. This convenient location offers the chain's signature fresh, never frozen chicken fingers and secret sauce.

Another surprise was the 7-Eleven on Fleet Street, which boasts a full deli counter offering everything from made-to-order sandwiches to pizza slices.

But it wasn't all good news. A few blocks away, the Mobil station on Boston Street offered a sad selection of stale chips and wilted hot dogs.

Others, such as the BP station on Broadway, had the unenviable task of watching their food offerings gather dust on the shelf, giving customers a sense that maybe it would be better to look elsewhere for their fuel and their food.
