Mohamed Salah is poised to commit his future to Liverpool by signing a new two-year contract, bringing an end to speculation surrounding his long-term future at Anfield.
The Egyptian forward has been in talks with the club over a new deal for several months, with the Reds eager to tie him down to a longer-term contract.
Liverpool officials were hopeful of securing a longer deal, but a two-year extension, which is set to keep the 31-year-old at the club until June 2026, has been agreed upon.
Under the terms of the proposed agreement, Salah will see his wages increase to around €20 million per year, making him one of the highest-paid players at the club.
With the signing of his new contract, Salah will be on track to become a Liverpool legend, following in the footsteps of Reds greats such as Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher.
The news is set to send shockwaves of excitement throughout the Liverpool faithful, who had grown increasingly anxious about the prospect of losing their star forward.
Despite reported interest from top clubs across Europe, Salah has chosen to extend his stay at Liverpool, where he has developed into one of the world's top players since his arrival from Roma in 2017.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had expressed his desire to keep the forward at the club, and his efforts appear to have paid off, with the new deal set to be announced in the coming days.
Salah, a member of the 2021/22 Ballon d'Or nominees' shortlist, has had an incredible impact at Liverpool, winning two Premier League Golden Boots and helping the Reds secure their first Premier League title in 30 years.
Liverpool's pursuit of success both domestically and in Europe is expected to continue with Salah at the forefront, and fans will be excited to see their star man commit to the club for the foreseeable future.
