The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), a renowned institution managing the famous Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Andhra Pradesh, has found itself entangled in a controversy surrounding the production of its iconic Tirupati Laddu. The stir revolves around the alleged adulteration of ghee in the sacred sweet, which is distributed to millions of devotees visiting the temple every year.
The TTD took a stern step on Wednesday, filing an official complaint against AR Dairy Food Private Limited, a company based in Dindigul. The complaint was lodged by P. Murali Krishna, General Manager (Procurement) of TTD, at the East Police Station.
According to reports, the TTD had been suspecting adulteration of ghee in the ingredients supplied by AR Dairy, which ultimately went into the preparation of the revered Laddu. This led to an investigation, the findings of which prompted the TTD to take legal action against the dairy company.
The Tirupati Laddu, a symbol of devotion and faith for millions of Hindus, is a specially made sweet offered as 'prasadam' (divine offering) to the devotees of Lord Venkateswara. It is produced with great care and attention to detail, adhering to rigorous guidelines and using only high-quality ingredients.
TTD officials stated that the purity and sanctity of the Laddu are of utmost importance, and any attempt to compromise on the quality of ingredients would be a significant disservice to the millions of devotees who consider it a sacred offering. The institution has always taken pride in maintaining the highest standards of quality and hygiene in the production of the Laddu.
An inquiry has been initiated to inspect the entire supply chain and production process of the Laddu, to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future. The police complaint against AR Dairy is seen as a strong move by the TTD to protect the sanctity of the Laddu and uphold the faith of the devotees.
As the investigation unfolds, the TTD has reassured devotees that the quality and purity of the Tirupati Laddu remain uncompromised. Stringent measures will be taken to prevent any such incidents in the future, and the institution remains committed to upholding its legacy of serving the most sacred and pure offerings to the devotees.
Devotees have come out in support of the TTD's decision, affirming their faith in the institution's commitment to maintaining the sanctity of the Laddu. With the matter now under investigation, all eyes are on the outcome, which is expected to have significant implications for the production of Tirupati Laddu and the role of private companies in the process.
