Buddy Hield ERUPTS For Season High As Curry and Wiggins Sit!

October 30, 2024

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The Golden State Warriors were without their top two stars for Tuesday night's matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans. The team was missing Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins due to injuries, but they didn't let that stop them from pulling off a remarkable comeback victory.

With the help of Buddy Hield's season-best performance, the Warriors managed to bounce back from a 20-point deficit and take home a 124-106 win. The game was all Pelicans in the early going, with New Orleans dominating the first quarter to jump out to a 38-22 lead.

But the Warriors refused to back down, chipping away at the deficit throughout the second quarter. Led by Hield's hot shooting, the team pulled within 11 points heading into halftime. The momentum carried over into the third quarter, with the Warriors making shot after shot to pull within striking distance.

Brandin Podziemski played a huge role in the second-half comeback, scoring 19 points to go along with his impressive all-around play. His energy on the court was infectious, and it seemed to energize the entire team as they surged past the Pelicans in the second half.

The Pelicans' offense went cold in the second half, and they struggled to find the basket. As the Warriors continued to build momentum, the pelicans simply couldn't keep up. With every bucket, the energy in the arena seemed to grow, and the Pelicans looked less and less confident.

In the end, the Warriors were able to pull away, cruising to a comfortable 18-point victory. The win is a testament to the team's depth and their refusal to give up in the face of adversity. The team's young players stepped up in a big way, and they'll look to build on this momentum in their next game.

The Pelicans, on the other hand, will need to regroup after a disappointing defeat. They came out of the gates firing but couldn't sustain their momentum. They'll look to bounce back in their next matchup, hoping to get their season back on track.

For the Warriors, Tuesday night's win was a positive sign, even without Curry and Wiggins. The team's depth was on full display, and their young players rose to the occasion. With this confidence-boosting win under their belts, the Warriors will look to make some noise in the near future.
