UTICA — The Utica Zoo and the New York Energy Zone partnered together once again to bring the annual Wildlife Festival to Utica. The event brought various activities and attractions both outside and inside the Utica Zoo and the John Orville Tower meeting space, transforming the venue into a wildlife enthusiast's paradise.
Visitors of all ages had a wild time exploring exhibits showcasing different animal species, speaking with wildlife experts, and getting up close and personal with some of the zoo's most fascinating residents. From majestic big cats to playful primates and majestic birds, the event boasted an assortment of wildlife displays.
Despite the inclement weather forecast for the day, spirits remained high as festival attendees danced and sang along to energetic live performances, while also indulging in scrumptious food options from local vendors. An array of animal-themed activities catered to families with young children, making the festival an enjoyable outing for the entire family.
Those seeking thrill and excitement had the chance to face their fears at the interactive wildlife exhibits. A snake-feeding demonstration proved to be a major draw, captivating the attention of onlookers and creating an engaging atmosphere.
Another attraction was a reptile and amphibian exhibit featuring an incredible assortment of cold-blooded creatures, ranging from vibrant dragon lizards to gargantuan snakes and exotic frogs.
Meanwhile, environmentally conscious attendees found themselves enthralled by a climate change awareness workshop conducted by zoologists, touching upon highly relevant topics like animal conservation and strategies for protecting the planet's priceless ecosystems.
At the crafts and arts corner, talented local artisans demonstrated their masterpieces – vibrant animal-themed mementos and breathtaking portraits of wildlife from all over the world – giving visitors a platform to appreciate local artistic brilliance.
As night began to fall on the event, it was clear the festival would go down in history as one of Utica's most vibrant and action-packed events, brimming with unforgettable performances, interactive fun, and some surprises from the wildlife kingdom.
