Coldplay has added a third show to their Mumbai leg of the "Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025", much to the delight of their fans in India. However the excitement was short-lived as all three shows sold out quickly on BookMyShow, leaving many enthusiasts frustrated and worried about securing their tickets.
Fans of the iconic British band took to social media to report long virtual queues and website crashes due to the extremely high demand for the concert tickets. The hashtag ColdplayIndia was trending on Twitter with fans sharing their experiences and venting about the ticketing process.
BookMyShow, the official ticketing partner for the event, issued a warning to fans against unauthorized ticket sales, urging them to buy only through official channels to avoid being duped by touts and resellers.
Reports have surfaced that some tickets have shown up on reselling platforms at inflated prices, prompting BookMyShow to issue the warning. In a statement, the company said that tickets sold on unauthorized platforms may not be valid, putting fans at risk of being turned away at the venue.
The high demand for Coldplay tickets is not surprising, given the band's massive popularity in India. Their previous concerts in the country have been hugely successful, with fans eagerly awaiting their return. However this time around, the ticketing process has been marred by controversy, with some fans accusing the ticketing company of not doing enough to prevent touting.
BookMyShow has assured fans that it is working to prevent unauthorized ticket sales and to ensure that genuine fans can buy tickets at face value. The company has also promised to take action against individuals found guilty of touting.
Meanwhile, Coldplay fans are advised to be cautious when buying tickets online and to only purchase from authorized sellers. With the concert still several months away, fans can expect the ticketing drama to continue, but with BookMyShow on high alert, hopes are high that genuine fans will get to enjoy the show without being taken advantage of.
