Joseph Sherman, the ex-bodyguard of hip-hop mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs, is firing back at a woman who accused him and his former boss of allegedly drugging and raping her in 2001. Thalia Graves filed a lawsuit in September, making shocking claims about a night she spent with the two men, but now Sherman is denying the allegations and suing Graves for defamation.
Sherman is adamant that he did not assault Graves and is seeking damages for the harm he claims her lawsuit has caused to his reputation. According to court documents, Sherman's lawsuit asserts that Graves' claims are entirely fabricated and were made with the intention of extorting money from him and Diddy.
The alleged incident is said to have occurred in 2001, when Graves claims she met Diddy at a party. She alleges that Diddy and Sherman invited her back to a hotel room, where they plied her with drinks and eventually drugged her. Graves claims that she was then subjected to a brutal and violent assault, with both Diddy and Sherman allegedly participating.
However, Sherman's lawsuit paints a very different picture of the events of that night. According to his account, Graves was a willing participant in the festivities and left the hotel room of her own accord the following morning. Sherman's lawsuit also notes that Graves has made several contradictory statements about the alleged assault over the years, which he claims undermines her credibility.
Diddy has also denied the allegations, with his representatives releasing a statement saying that the claims are 'utterly false' and 'without merit.' The rapper has not yet filed a lawsuit against Graves, but it is unclear whether he will do so in the future.
The case is set to be a closely watched one, given the high profile of the defendants and the serious nature of the allegations. However, with both sides presenting vastly different versions of events, it remains to be seen how the truth will finally come to light.
As the case progresses, it is likely that more details will emerge about the alleged incident and the credibility of the witnesses. For now, it is clear that this is a case that will not go quietly into the night, with both sides firmly entrenched in their positions and determined to have their say.
