Disaster in Lead: Local Team Falls Apart in Crushing Defeat

LEAD - The Lead-Deadwood varsity boys' basketball team gave up 48 points in the first half Thursday night and fell 74-54 to Rapid City Christian in a game that will be remembered for all the wrong reasons.

This devastating loss was played out at the Lead-Deadwood High School gym, in Lead, where the home team had been looking to turn their fortunes around and make a push for the top of the league.

Unfortunately, their opponents, Rapid City Christian, had other ideas and came out swinging, leaving the Lead-Deadwood team reeling from the onslaught.

The first half was a disaster for the home team, with Rapid City Christian dominating from the tip-off and taking a commanding lead that would ultimately prove insurmountable.

Despite a valiant effort from the Lead-Deadwood team in the second half, they were unable to claw back the deficit and were left to pick up the pieces from a crushing defeat.

This loss will be a tough pill to swallow for the Lead-Deadwood team, but they will need to regroup and refocus if they are to bounce back from this setback and make a push for the playoffs.

For now, though, they will have to lick their wounds and try to put this disappointing defeat behind them as they look to the future and the challenges that lie ahead.
