Dolphins Get Massive Boost as Star Snapper Prepares Comeback After 2 Months in the Dark

December 5, 2024

Miami Dolphins long snapper Blake Ferguson has been missing from action for almost two months, with the team keeping the exact reason for his absence under wraps. The prolonged absence of the vital player has left the Dolphins searching for solutions and experimenting with different options to fill the void left by Ferguson.

Since his departure from the active lineup, the Dolphins have been utilizing different players to assume the role of the snapper in special team drills. While the ad-hoc arrangements may provide temporary relief, teams usually require their dedicated snapper for precise, effective, and safe execution of special team plays.

While there is still no formal statement regarding the underlying cause of Ferguson's issue, it is heartening to see the player on the team's practice sidelines, seemingly gearing up for a hopeful return. Ferguson's prolonged layoff could be attributed to a host of factors, such as sickness, injury, or even personal obligations that prevented him from performing his duties on the field.

Fans of the Dolphins must be anxious for his comeback, given the influence that he brings to the table. Blake Ferguson has served the team admirably in his role as snapper since joining the team, contributing significantly to on-field victories. The return of such a vital component is a welcome move, even as there seems to be a lack of details on the timeline for his comeback.

While some followers might express concerns over some details that are missing from the narrative, their questions will hopefully be answered once Ferguson gets the approval to return to practice. Miami fans remain optimistic that with Ferguson’s return, along with other performers, the franchise will yet again enjoy success on the field, particularly on special teams.

Coach McDaniel will most likely weigh the option of sending the talent back onto the training fields while being very cautious at the same time. It can be extremely unnerving for both players and coaches to navigate through recovery phases after setbacks that are outside the standard player physical malaise narrative.

This is what makes the stakes particularly high with any new information that emerges on the Ferguson saga - especially when that bit of new information is that Ferguson may indeed practice again soon. We’ll continue to monitor any fresh update and go from there.

As that momentous decision hangs in limbo with virtually zero visibility on the formal strategy, Dolphins’ fans remain with eager hearts.
