Sean Dyche has praised the resilience and determination of his Everton players following their hard-fought 0-0 draw with Chelsea at Goodison Park.
The Toffees boss was full of admiration for his team's relentless effort and commitment to the cause, as they battled to a well-deserved point against one of the Premier League's top sides.
Dyche's men had to weather a storm of Chelsea pressure at times, but they stood firm and defended with courage and conviction, restricting the Blues to few clear-cut chances.
The Everton manager was delighted with the way his team responded to the challenge, and he believes the result is a testament to the progress they have made in recent weeks.
'I'm really proud of the players,' Dyche said. 'They've come through a storm, not just in this game, but in the last few weeks. We've had some tough fixtures, and to come out with the points we have is a great credit to them.'
Dyche was particularly impressed with the way his team defended, marshaled by the experienced and dominant figure of Michael Keane at the heart of the back four.
'We defended fantastically well,' Dyche added. 'The players put their bodies on the line, and we limited Chelsea to very few chances. That's a great testament to the team's defending, and it's a big part of why we got the result we did.'
The draw with Chelsea is a significant result for Everton, as it not only earns them a valuable point but also keeps them well clear of the relegation zone.
With the Toffees now sitting comfortably in mid-table, Dyche is confident that his team can build on this result and push on for the rest of the season.
'We're in a good place at the moment,' Dyche said. 'The players are confident, and they're working hard every day to improve. We know we've still got a lot of work to do, but we're looking forward to the challenges ahead.'
Everton's next fixture is a tricky one, as they travel to face a resurgent West Ham United side at the London Stadium. However, on the basis of this performance, Dyche's men will be full of confidence and ready for the challenge.
