Ericssoin has just landed a major contract with Vodafone Idea Vi and the deal looks set to strengthen its position in the Indian telecom market.
As per the agreement Ericsson will be modernising and expanding Vodafone Ideass 4G network as well as providing the operator with its 5G equipment.
This news comes after the Swedish telecom equipment manufacturer was declared a 5G partner for several other Indian telecom operators.
Under this deal the Stockholmheadquartered firm will carry out a panIndia deployment of its 5G radio access network RAN and will also provide its Networkequipment and professional services.
The partnership aims to bring ultrafast voice over longterm evolution VoLTE calls with high definition voice and video quality.
According to Ericsson the deployment of 5G equipment will bring enhanced mobile broadband and extremely low latency and ultra reliable communication services for consumers and enterprises.
The deal with Vodafone Idea will also see Ericsson expand its services in the telecom circles of Delhi Kerala Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan as well as increase its footprint and market share with Vi substantially.
The company stated that the decision to further strengthen its position in the Indian market stems from its confidence in the countrys economic potential.
This latest partnership brings Ericsson and Vodafone Idea into an era of renewed collaboration towards achieving the highest standards of innovative telecom service delivery in India.
