Exclusive Insight into the Mind of a Ferrari Racing Champion: Roger Monteforte Speaks Out

Julian Thomas: Roger, congratulations on your recent Ferrari Challenge North America Championship win. How does it feel to be at the top of your racing career?

Roger Monteforte: Thank you, Julian. It's an incredible feeling knowing that all the hard work and dedication have paid off. It's an honor to be part of the Ferrari family and to have been able to bring home a championship for my team.

Julian Thomas: For those who may not be familiar with the Ferrari Challenge North America series, can you tell us a little bit about your racing background and how you got started in the sport?

Roger Monteforte: Sure. I've been racing for most of my life, but I got serious about it when I was in my mid-20s. I started out in karting, moved into open-wheel cars and eventually made my way into GT racing.

Julian Thomas: The Ferrari Challenge North America series features some of the best drivers from around the world. What do you think sets you apart from your competitors, allowing you to come out on top?

Roger Monteforte: I think it's a combination of things. First and foremost, you have to have a great team behind you, and I'm lucky to have that. Outside of that, I think it's just a matter of putting in the time and effort. I'm always looking for ways to improve my driving, whether that's through data analysis or physical training.

Julian Thomas: Speaking of physical training, I've heard that it takes a tremendous amount of physical fitness to be a racing driver. Can you walk us through your typical workout routine?

Roger Monteforte: Yeah, of course. I try to stay as active as possible. That includes a lot of cardio such as running and cycling. I also do a lot of strength training to build up my neck and core muscles, which is critical for long periods of time behind the wheel.

Julian Thomas: That makes sense. I've also heard that mental preparation is just as important as physical fitness. How do you prepare yourself mentally for a big race?

Roger Monteforte: Yeah, that's true. I work a lot with a sports psychologist to make sure I'm in the right mindset before every race. That includes visualization techniques and breathing exercises to stay calm and focused.

Julian Thomas: It's clear that you have a deep passion for racing. What advice would you give to young drivers who are just starting out in the sport?

Roger Monteforte: Never give up. There's going to be ups and downs, but you have to stay committed to your goals. Also, don't be afraid to fail. That's where you'll learn some of your biggest lessons.
