Kelvin Davis insisted Eastleigh did not deserve to win after Aldershot came from behind to see off the Spitfires 2-1 in the Hampshire derby.
After a hard-fought match between the two teams, Davis could not hide his disappointment as the visiting team failed to deliver what was expected from the local derby.
"I think it is clear from the result that we very much deserved to get zero from the game," he stated bluntly, refusing to sugarcoat Eastleigh's subpar performance.
According to Davis, the home team had significant opportunities to take control of the game and lock in their victory, but in the end, Aldershot's persistence paid off as they came from behind to secure the triumph.
While many fans may point fingers at the team for their defeat, Davis readily accepted responsibility, highlighting Eastleigh's numerous missed chances and failures to hold onto their narrow 1-0 lead.
Visibly exasperated by the loss, Davis reiterated his thoughts on the underwhelming display, "Again, we've put in a performance that wasn't worthy of winning the game, and ultimately, Aldershot were better than us and deserved the three points they picked up tonight."
For Eastleigh supporters, however, this crushing loss is bound to raise tough questions about the future of their team under Davis' leadership.
