Paulo Fonseca has made a startling revelation about his AC Milan team, claiming that despite their recent improvements, they are still far from being the finished product. In an interview, the Portuguese manager opened up about the challenges his team is facing, highlighting a series of problems that have arisen as a direct result of their progress.
milan has been one of the most improved teams in Serie A this season, with Fonseca's arrival sparking a significant upturn in their fortunes. However, the manager is aware that their success is not just a simple case of cause-and-effect. Instead, he believes that the team's growth has been accompanied by a series of new challenges that need to be addressed.
"When we improve in one area, we start to struggle in another," Fonseca explained. "It's like trying to hold water in your hand - the tighter you squeeze, the more it leaks out between your fingers. We need to find a way to balance our improvements and make sure that we're not creating new problems in the process."
Fonseca's comments will come as a surprise to many, given that Milan have been one of the standout teams in Serie A this season. However, the manager is keen to keep his team grounded and focused on the task at hand. He knows that the Italian top flight is notoriously unpredictable, and that a single setback can quickly undo all of their hard work.
"We can't afford to get complacent," Fonseca warned. "We need to stay focused and keep working hard if we want to achieve our goals. We've made some great progress so far, but there's still a long way to go."
For Fonseca, the key to success lies in finding a balance between different aspects of the team's game. He knows that his team has the potential to dominate possession and create scoring opportunities, but he also understands that they need to be more resilient at the back if they want to compete with the best teams in the league.
"We need to find a way to balance our attacking flair with defensive solidity," he said. "If we can do that, then we'll be a much more consistent team and we'll be able to compete with anyone."
Despite the challenges ahead, Fonseca remains optimistic about his team's chances. He knows that they have the talent and the drive to succeed, and he is confident that they will continue to improve as the season wears on.
"I've been impressed with the players' attitude and application," he said. "They know what they need to work on and they're willing to put in the effort. As long as we keep working together and supporting each other, then I'm confident that we can achieve great things."
