It's hard to believe it's been three decades since Friends first appeared on our television screens, revolutionizing the sitcom genre and captivating audiences with its hilarious antics, quirky characters and heartfelt moments. The iconic show launched the careers of six talented actors, each of whom has navigated the ups and downs of fame in different ways. Now, we take a look at what the Friends cast members - David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt Le Blanc, and Matthew Perry - have been up to since the show's finale in 2004.
After Friends, David Schwimmer ventured into directing and made his Broadway debut as a director with The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial. He's continued to work in theater, with credits including a 2012 Broadway production of Detroit and the London premiere of the same play. On the small screen, he's appeared in shows such as Cuckoo, American Crime Story, and the comedy series, Intelligence, which he stars in alongside Nick Mohammed. Off-screen, Schwimmer has been a vocal advocate for women's rights and has supported several charitable causes over the years.
Jennifer Aniston has undoubtedly become one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood, with a successful film career spanning over two decades. Her memorable roles include Rachel in Marley and Me, Nicole in Just Go with It, and Dr. Julia Harris in Horrible Bosses. Aniston has been married twice - first to actor Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005, and then to Justin Theroux from 2015 to 2018 - and was in a long-term relationship with Vince Vaughn and John Mayer in the past. Off-screen, she's an advocate for refugees, and supports various charities, including the Red Cross and the Golden Hat Foundation.
Courteney Cox, also known as Monica Geller-Bing from the hit series, attempted a television comeback in the early 2000s with her series, Cougar Town, which aired for six seasons until 2015. Cox recently enjoyed a successful Broadway debut in Spring Awakening, playing the role of a frazzled single mother of a gay teenager struggling to adapt to the complexities of the 21st century. Cox, who was previously in a relationship with rocker Johnny McDaid and has shared concerns regarding environmental issues and climate change on her social media.
Lisa Kudrow is well-known for her quirky personality both on and off-screen, from starring in films such as Easy A, The Girl on the Train, and P.S. I Love You to playing memorable characters like Valerie Cherish in the short-lived series, The Comeback. She also created the reality web series Web Therapy and has narrated, written, and executive produced numerous TV shows and movies. Kudrow graduated with a degree in biology and shared her scientific perspective on the human condition in a special discussion. Lisa wed French-American Michele Stern in 1995 with whom she has a son.
Matt Le Blanc hit a bump in his career after Friends and had trouble finding lead roles, but after being cast as the fictionalized version of himself in Episodes, the talented actor enjoyed eight successful seasons as a lead on the hit British television series. Leblanc played the title role in BBC's Man with a Plan but got a breakthrough in playing Joey Tribbiani, for which he received critical acclaim and achieved greater fame. With his roots being Welsh and Italian, LeBlanc has discussed the great challenges relating to parenting he's experienced and was divorced twice.
Matthew Perry got more than a million people worried last year as his look shocked fellow TV viewers. During his appearance on a BBC Radio 2 show, a clear transformation sparked negative news, and left the BBC facing inquiries. Unfortunately for the famous actor, the past two years weren't the only tumultuous periods. In the late years of producing and starring as Chandler Bing on Friends, he had numerous publicized stints in rehab. Since then, his subsequent, widely successful NBC show, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, received positive reviews for his exceptional acting skills and later he landed a critically acclaimed role as Oscar Madison in The Odd Couple on Broadway.
