Frontenacs on Fire Kingston Survives Late Guelph Surge to Make it Three in a Row

The Kingston Frontenacs continued their winning ways, posting their third consecutive victory after a hard-fought 5-4 win over the Guelph Storm on home ice. The Storm, meanwhile, saw their winless streak stretch to nine games, despite a valiant effort that came up just short.

Heading into the third period, the Frontenacs appeared to be cruising, holding a comfortable 5-1 lead. But the Storm refused to go quietly, launching a fierce comeback bid that netted them three goals in the final frame. In the end, however, Kingston's early lead proved too much to overcome, as the Frontenacs hung on for the win.

Kingston's offense was led by their top line, which combined for three goals and six points on the night. Goaltender Ryan Dugas was solid between the pipes, making 35 saves to earn his third win in as many starts.

Despite the loss, Guelph's third period rally was a positive sign for a team that has struggled to find the back of the net of late. The Storm's power play, in particular, was a major factor in their late surge, scoring twice in the final 10 minutes to make things interesting.

While the Storm's winless streak now sits at nine games, Guelph's Head Coach, George Burnett, remained optimistic about his team's chances moving forward. Citing the progress his team has made in recent games, Burnett expressed confidence that a win is just around the corner for his beleaguered squad.

For Kingston, meanwhile, the win marks their third in a row, and their seventh in their last 10 games. With the victory, the Frontenacs jumped into a tie for fourth place in the Ontario Hockey League's Eastern Conference, just three points back of the second-place Ottawa 67's.
