Indian golf pro Shubhankar Sharma has left fans stunned with his disappointing performance at the Open de France, missing the cut after two rounds at the Le Golf National course in Paris.
Sharma's struggles were apparent from the first round itself, as he finished with a score of 72, with an even mix of four birdies and five bogeys that put him in a challenging position on the leaderboard.
Despite his best efforts, Sharma was unable to turn his fortunes around in the second round, finishing with a score of 75 that sealed his fate and led to him missing the cut.
Sharma's performance in the second round was marred by a triple bogey, along with two birdies and three bogeys, that made it impossible for him to make up for lost ground.
This comes as a disappointment for Sharma, who had previously competed at the same course in the Olympic Games just two months ago and had shown promise.
Meanwhile, Sweden's Adam Svensson has taken the lead in the tournament, setting the bar high for the remaining golfers.
Sharma's fans will be eagerly waiting for his next outing, hoping that he will bounce back from this setback and put up a commendable performance.
The Open de France is one of the most prestigious golf tournaments in Europe and Sharma's participation was seen as an opportunity for him to showcase his skills on a global stage.
Unfortunately, it was not his day, but the young Indian golfer has shown time and again that he has the talent and determination to succeed at the highest level.
Only time will tell if Sharma will be able to put this disappointment behind him and come back stronger in his future tournaments.
