HAILEYBURY, Ont. – Jacob Hoggard, the lead vocalist of the popular Canadian band Hedley, is facing serious allegations of rape, choking, and verbal abuse. The complainant in his ongoing sexual assault trial took the stand, recounting a traumatic experience that has left her shaken to this day.
The incident allegedly occurred in June 2016, after Hoggard's band performed a concert in the area. The complainant, visibly upset throughout her testimony, described a terrifying encounter with the musician. She claimed that Hoggard not only raped her but also subjected her to severe physical and verbal abuse.
During the alleged assault, Hoggard reportedly referred to the complainant as a 'dirty little piggy' and imitated pig sounds, further humiliating her. The woman told the jury that these disturbing actions still haunt her to this day, with the memory of Hoggard's 'bright eyes' etched into her mind.
The complainant explained that she repeatedly tried to escape from Hoggard's grasp but was unable to do so. She begged him to stop the assault, but her pleas fell on deaf ears. The incident only came to an end when Hoggard allegedly urinated on the complainant, further degrading her already vulnerable state.
This harrowing testimony has shed light on a darker side of Jacob Hoggard, one that starkly contrasts with his public image as the charismatic frontman of Hedley. The trial is ongoing, with more witnesses expected to take the stand in the coming days. As the case unfolds, fans of the band are left grappling with the disturbing allegations against their beloved musician.
