Indiana got what it wanted Tuesday night in a 97-71 rout of Sam Houston State - a lopsided victory where its bench played well and it didn't have to go down to the wire. The Hoosiers will look for more of the same when they face Miami (OH) next.
The win over Sam Houston State was a total team effort, with every player on the roster seeing significant minutes. The bench scored a season-high 26 points, led by eight from a freshman guard who continues to impress with his scoring ability.
The Hoosiers' starters, however, were still the main attraction. Senior forward Juwan Morgan led the way with a career-high 21 points and 12 rebounds, his fifth double-double of the season. Morgan has been the Hoosiers' most consistent player this season and continues to make a strong case for All-Big Ten honors.
Devonte Green and Aljami Durham added 17 and 15 points, respectively, for the Hoosiers. The two guards have been a key part of the Hoosiers' offense this season and will look to continue their strong play against Miami (OH).
The RedHawks come into the game on a two-game losing streak, but have been competitive in most of their games this season. They're led by senior guard Darrian Ringo, who averages 15.5 points and 4.5 assists per game.
Miami (OH) has struggled on the road this season, however, and will face a tough test in the Hoosiers. Indiana has been dominant at home and will look to continue that trend.
