Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer spoke out about the team's recent struggles in the Southeastern Conference (SEC), stating that it's not just their opponents, but also their own emotional state that's affecting their performance.
During a press conference on Monday, DeBoer mentioned that this line between winning and losing has been highlighted in their games, especially when considering their mistakes, penalties and failed execution. According to DeBoer, 'emotional discipline' is a major key behind Alabama's outcomes of their matches and claimed that his squad will keep working to eliminate these problems in their SEC games.
When speaking to reporters, DeBoer didn't hold back about the reasons why they have lost in some of those tight games, only pointing fingers at his team's sub-par performance. 'The margin between winning and losing in our league is so thin, and we have seen time and time again it's been our mistakes and our inability to execute that has kept us on the wrong side,' DeBoer said during his weekly press conference.
There's little doubt that with Missouri up next in their list of games for this season, Alabama will aim to avoid adding another defeat under their belt. A source who was near to DeBoer stated that a lot of their focus is now centered around staying focused during times when they could misfire due to heightened emotions.
