MANILA, Philippines — The recent controversy surrounding actor Ken Chan has left fans and critics alike stunned. A warrant of arrest was released against the actor due to a syndicated estafa complaint, causing quite the stir in the local show business scene. Chan, who had been mum about the issue, has finally spoken out, releasing a statement on his social media accounts to address the circulating version of the case.
It all began when Chan established Café Claus, a business venture that initially had three branches but unfortunately closed down. In an attempt to set the record straight, Chan clarified that he did not deceive anyone; rather, the business failed to succeed. In the complaint, it was alleged that Chan, along with seven other individuals, failed to deliver the agreed profits from a P14-million investment deal. Authorities made an attempt to serve the warrant of arrest on Nov. 8 at Chan's residence but were unsuccessful.
Chan expressed his desire to shed light on the actual events, stating that just because a specific amount has been filed against him, it does not necessarily represent the full truth. He has vowed to reveal the actual numbers and details in the coming days, which he believes will show that the figures have been greatly exaggerated.
Chan also raised concerns about certain individuals who have continued to attack him and damage his character. According to him, these individuals have fueled the controversy, and he claims that the case was filed as syndicated estafa when in reality, it should only pertain to the business loss.
The actor vehemently denied the allegations made against him, stating that he did not deceive anyone or ask for money under false pretenses. Rather, Chan attributes the losses of Café Claus to certain business partners who allegedly sought to bring down the company and damage his reputation.
It appears that Chan chose to remain silent at first because he had been defending himself through legal means with the support of people who love and stand by him in this situation. However, now he has decided to speak out in an effort to clear his name.
Chan has apologized to companies and brands associated with him and expressed his gratitude for the understanding of his supporters. Despite the challenges ahead, Chan remains resolute that with the help of those who believe in him, he will be able to overcome this difficult time and emerge stronger on the other side.
