Kenya Gets Massive Boost In Bid To Host 2024 Chan As Caf Boss Motsepe Offers Full Support

December 21, 2024

Kenya’s dream of hosting the 2024 African Nations Championship (Chan) has received a significant boost after Caf president Dr. Patrice Motsepe reassured the country of the continental body’s support.

Dr. Motsepe, who was recently in Kenya for a visit, met with the country’s football stakeholders, including the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president, and discussed the possibility of Kenya hosting the tournament.

The Caf boss expressed his confidence in Kenya’s ability to host a successful tournament, citing the country’s experience in hosting international events and its world-class infrastructure.

Kenyans will be eager to host the tournament, which will feature the best players from across the continent, and Dr. Motsepe’s reassurance will undoubtedly give them a sense of optimism.

The 2024 Chan will be the seventh edition of the tournament, which was first held in 2009 in Cote d’Ivoire.

Kenyans will be hoping to use the tournament as an opportunity to showcase their country’s rich football culture and talent, as well as its capacity to host major international events.

The country has a long history of producing talented footballers, and hosting the Chan tournament will undoubtedly provide a platform for young players to showcase their skills and gain international recognition.

With Dr. Motsepe’s support, Kenya is now well-placed to submit a strong bid to host the tournament, which is expected to attract a large following from across the continent.

The Chan tournament has grown in popularity over the years, and hosting the event will undoubtedly be a major boost to Kenya’s football development and economy.

The country will be hoping to learn from its past experiences, including the 2018 African Nations Championship, which was won by Morocco.

Kenyans will be eager to see their national team perform well in the tournament, and Dr. Motsepe’s reassurance will undoubtedly give them a sense of confidence.

The path to hosting the tournament will not be easy, and Kenya will face stiff competition from other countries that have also expressed interest in hosting the event.

However, with the support of the Caf president and the country’s football stakeholders, Kenya is well-placed to submit a strong bid and bring the tournament to the country.
