Kings Skate to Victory with Historic Moment

Andre Lee scored his first NHL goal, Darcy Kuemper recorded his second shutout of the season and the Los Angeles Kings beat the New Jersey Devils 3-0 for their third straight win.

Quinton Byfield also scored for the Kings, and Anze Kopitar added an empty-net goal as the Devils lost for the fifth time in six games.

Darcy Kuemper made 28 saves for the Kings, who have won five of seven overall.

The Devils were unable to score despite having several good chances, including a breakaway by Jesper Bratt in the second period.

Lee, a 22-year-old rookie, scored 5:38 into the first period when he took a pass from Byfield and fired a wrist shot past Devils goalie Vitek Vanecek.

It was a momentous occasion for Lee, who has been working towards this goal his entire career.

The Kings dominated the first period, outshooting the Devils 12-7, but the Devils played better in the second period and had several good chances to score.

However, Kuemper was up to the task, making several big saves to preserve the Kings' lead.

In the third period, Byfield scored at 7:29 to give the Kings a 2-0 lead.

Kopitar then scored an empty-net goal with 2:12 left to seal the win for the Kings.

The Devils have now lost five of their last six games and are struggling to find consistency.

Despite the loss, Devils coach Lindy Ruff remained positive, saying that his team had played well but just couldn't capitalize on their chances.

The Kings, on the other hand, are feeling confident after their third straight win.

Coach Todd McLellan praised his team's effort, saying that they had played a solid game and deserved the win.

The Kings will look to continue their winning streak when they face off against the Golden Knights in their next game.

The Devils will try to bounce back from their loss when they face the Panthers.
