Kiss Frizzy Hair Goodbye Forever with This One Simple Trick Experts Swear By

October 5, 2024

Summer is here, and with it, the inevitable humidity that can turn even the most perfectly coiffed locks into a frizzy, unruly mess. While there are many treatments and products on the market that promise to banish frizz for good, there is one crucial tip that experts swear by - and it involves ditching your heat styling tools.

Heat styling can be incredibly damaging to hair, especially when done excessively. It can dry out the hair, stripping it of its natural oils and causing it to become frizzy and unmanageable. This is especially true during the summer months when hair is already under attack from the humidity.

The heat from blow dryers, flat irons, and curling irons can also cause the cuticle of the hair to lift, creating an uneven surface that allows moisture to penetrate, leading to even more frizz. And while using heat styling tools can give you that sleek, polished look you want, overusing them can actually have the opposite effect, leaving your hair looking dull, dry, and - you guessed it - frizzy.

So what can you do instead? For starters, you can try to limit your use of heat styling tools. Try to save them for special occasions only, or find alternative ways to achieve the look you want. For example, you can use rollers to create beautiful, bouncy curls without the heat, or use a cool setting on your dryer to gently dry your hair without stripping it of its natural oils.

Another trick is to use a diffuser when you do have to use heat. A diffuser can help distribute heat evenly, minimizing damage to the hair. Additionally, be sure to use a protectant spray or serum before styling to help guard your hair from heat damage.

And don't forget about hair masks! Deep conditioning treatments can work wonders for dry, damaged hair. Use a hydrating mask once or twice a week to replenish moisture and help lock in shine. You can also try a coconut oil treatment, where you leave a generous amount of oil in your hair for at least an hour before shampooing. This can help nourish and moisturize your hair, keeping frizz at bay.
