Leclerc DOMINATES in the US GP: The Ferrari 1-2 That Left the Field SHAKEN!

October 21, 2024

Charles Leclerc is officially on a roll, and his performance at the United States Grand Prix was nothing short of breathtaking. The Monegasque driver stormed to victory, leading a resounding Ferrari 1-2 finish that sent shockwaves throughout the Formula 1 paddock. This latest triumph marks Leclerc's third win of the season, cementing his status as one of the most formidable drivers in the sport.

From the get-go, Leclerc was on a mission. Off the line, he quickly capitalised on the squabbling front-row starters, Max Verstappen and Lando Norris, using his lightning-quick reflexes to seize the opportunity and undercut both title hopefuls. As the trio hurtled towards the apex of Turn 1, Leclerc cut inside with surgical precision, outmanoeuvring the battling duo to snatch the lead. It was a textbook move that demonstrated Leclerc's razor-sharp instincts and exceptional car control.

In the initial stages, Leclerc sprinted clear of the chasing pack, effortlessly extending his advantage. It quickly became clear that he had the legs to control the proceedings, much to the frustrations of Verstappen and Norris, who found themselves mired in a fight for scraps. Backmarker traffic would eventually spilt the pair further apart, with Norris ending up in fifth place after a penalty-induced setback.

Norris initially slotted into second place, but his troubles began soon after. A rear-brake infringement led to the McLaren driver copping a damaging five-second penalty, effectively torpedoing his hopes of beating Verstappen to the rostrum. Meanwhile, Leclerc continued to serenely tick off the laps at the front, fashioning an ominous buffer between himself and the chasing bunch.

If Leclerc was the master strategist, his wingman Carlos Sainz was content to ride shotgun and claim an advantageous runner-up spot. A comfortable seventeen seconds adrift of the victor, Sainz followed Leclerc across the line, completing a cherished Ferrari double. The Italian marque's twin success came at an unlikely venue - Red Bull Racing had heavily favoured their drivers for victory ahead of the weekend.
