Manchester United to Offload Tyrell Malacia in Desperate Bid to Land Patrick Dorgu

January 21, 2025

Manchester United is reportedly working on offloading defender Tyrell Malacia to help fund the transfer of highly-rated youngster Patrick Dorgu. The Red Devils are eager to strengthen their squad and have identified Dorgu as a key target, but need to free up funds to make the deal happen.

According to sources, Malacia has been deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford, with manager Ruben Amorim keen to bring in a more reliable option to shore up the team's defense. The Portuguese tactician has been impressed by Dorgu's performances and believes the young star has the potential to become a mainstay in the United lineup.

Meanwhile, Juventus is said to be circling for one of Manchester United's current stars, with Amorim admitting that the Italian giants' interest is a significant threat to his transfer plans. The Manchester Evening News reports that Amorim has identified a £60m-rated ace as a potential replacement for the outgoing star, in a move that could signal a huge upgrade for the Red Devils.

Football365 claims that Amorim has already begun making contingency plans, with a £38m-rated replacement lined up to fill the void left by the departing player. The report suggests that Amorim is willing to be brave and make tough decisions to ensure the long-term success of the team, even if it means offloading established players to make way for new talent.

GIVEMESPORT reports that one Manchester United player could be set to leave the club as early as January, with Amorim giving the £75k-a-week star permission to explore loan options across Europe. United In Focus - Manchester United FC News notes that several clubs are keen on signing the player on a temporary deal, which could pave the way for a permanent exit in the summer.

As the transfer window heats up, Manchester United fans will be keeping a close eye on developments at Old Trafford. With Amorim at the helm, the Red Devils are expected to be busy in the market, and the impending departure of Malacia could be just the start of a major overhaul.
