As for the Cardinals, the abrupt end to what could have been a special season will likely sting for some time. Few teams manage to make it this far without showing some level of heart and resilience along the way, however.

No matter what ultimately transpires from this point forward, there is no shame in falling to a team the caliber of Marshall, which boasts some of the best players that the state has to offer. Like their vanquished foes, the Tigers are built for a potential championship run, and they've shown time and again that they have the heart, grit, and determination to make a deep postseason push.

Ultimately, what will stick out most about this contest is the undeniably sterling effort turned in by Marshall's defense. Their work on that side of the ball has earned them the right to advance, and now the Tigers will eagerly await their next challenge as they seek to bring home a section championship.
