Dai Dai Ames was on fire as Virginia cruised to a commanding 67-41 victory over Holy Cross in a basketball showdown. Ames logged an impressive 16 points, providing the firepower the Cavaliers needed to clinch the win in convincing fashion.
The game was largely one-sided, with Holy Cross struggling to find its footing throughout the contest. The team's woes intensified in the final six minutes, as the Crusaders were held scoreless, unable to get anything going against Virginia's stifling defense. To add insult to injury, Holy Cross whiffed on five consecutive field-goal attempts, and to make matters worse, missed a free throw. The woeful shooting streak from Anthony Robinson encapsulated the frustration for Holy Cross.
Virginia seized control of the game early, and their commanding performance allowed them to cruise to a 26-point win. With Ames leading the charge, the Cavaliers showcased their impressive team work and tenacity on both sides of the court. Their well-rounded performance was more than Holy Cross could handle, resulting in the dismal showing for the Crusaders.
Despite the early promise shown by the Crusaders, Virginia's onslaught proved too much to overcome. Holy Cross's ineffectiveness in the second half further compounded their woes, resulting in the comprehensive loss.
