Known for its heritage, wealth, culture, and tradition, the Jaipur royal family has been ruling the internet with their public appearances. This story features Sawai Padmanabh Singh, who was crowned Maharaja at the age of 12.
Born on July 2, 1998, in Delhi, Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh, was crowned as the successor to the throne of Jaipur following the demise of his grandfather Brigadier Sawai Bhawani Singh, who was the 13th ruler of Jaipur, on 17 April 2011.
Padmanabh's story started in Delhi, wherein he was born to Princess Diya Kumari, the first-ever lady to contest elections in Rajasthan, and Narendra Singh, a member of the erstwhile royal family of Isarda. Before he turned 12, Maharaja Padmanabh was a regular school-going kid and has been quoted saying that he was unaware that he was the heir to the throne until his late grandfather came to visit.
At the age of 12, Maharaja Padmanabh's life changed dramatically. Following the demise of his grandfather, the young lad was made a Maharaja – one of the most powerful titles in Rajasthan – making him one of the youngest to hold this title. Since then, Maharaja Padmanabh has been constantly under scrutiny. Not just for his wealth but also for his good looks. The 24-year-old Maharaja has been crowned as the royal fashionista and has also been making appearances at various polo games.
Padmanabh's luxurious lifestyle also allows him to have an extensive collection of cars, horses, and everything that spells royalty. With an estimated net worth of over Rs 4,000 crores, Maharaja Padmanabh's wealth seems endless, but he seems to be taking it all in his stride. Padmanabh has been very vocal about cultural heritage as well. Last year on August 25, a day after the Independence Day celebrations, India was in the midst of Har Ghar Tiranga initiative, which aimed to put the national flag at every household. Speaking to ANI, Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh said, "Historical places, including museums, monuments, palaces, are the symbols of the age-old history of this country and these are largely lying in the condition of neglect. A campaign like 'Viraasat Vaani' can bring the youth closer to their heritage and encourage and inspire them to take care of the same. This initiative is also offering an opportunity to raise awareness among the younger generation and showcase them the true glimpse of India's cultural heritage."
As a polo player, Maharaja has won several international tournaments and has also represented India in several tournaments. As reported by Outlook India, Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh made India's first-ever Royal polo team who earned their first-ever International polo match win. The young Maharaja, with his blue-blood lineage, impeccable upbringing, and love for his country, Maharaja Padmanabh surely has got it all.
