Solar System | Trailer - BBC - BBC8 mind-blowing NASA pics capturing storms in different planets Hindustan Times
Storms are a staple of planet Earth, but they can occur on other planets in the solar system as well. For those who have ever wondered about the ferocity of storms that rage on other planets, NASA has provided some breathtaking insights into their existence. NASA revealed eight mind-blowing pictures of storms in the solar system.
The first image depicts a massive storm on Jupiter, which measures approximately 10,000km in diameter. The Great Red Spot is the name given to this massive storm, and NASA has been observing its formation and evolution for over a century. The tempests have captivated scientists due to their sheer size and resilience.
NASA's other image shows a category 5 hurricane-like storm on Saturn's north pole. The unique structure of the Saturnian storm, combined with its icy environment, has piqued the interest of researchers seeking to better understand these global events. Saturn's massive storm, however, lasts much longer than any Earthly equivalent.
Another notable storm picture from NASA reveals a giant vortex on Neptune. NASA captured this image of Neptune's strongest winds yet - a 'strong wind belt' that touches speeds of over 2,100 km per hour - a staggering phenomenon scientists don't observe elsewhere in our solar system.
Scientists have been working hard to determine the reason behind the dynamic activity of the solar wind. Jupiter, Venus and Mars are among other planets NASA observed through their different space missions. Thanks to recent advances in spacecraft technology, humans can now view other worlds from nearer points in space. These mind-blowing NASA storm pictures help build an increased understanding of celestial phenomenon.
