Mohamed Salah played down the pressure on Liverpool to perform despite their record-breaking start, after the Reds secured a hard-won 2-0 friendly victory over Italian side Bologna at Anfield.

The Egyptian international was instrumental in securing the win for the Reds, setting up teammate Luis Diaz with a beautiful cross that found the top of the net before scoring a decisive late second goal.

Despite their impressive performance, Salah stopped short of reading too much into the result, insisting it was just part of their preparations for the new season.

'It was a good training session for us. You can tell when the players are doing well and feeling confident. We need to keep pushing each other and work hard to improve.'

'It's not just about winning games at this stage of the season, we need to make sure we're peaking at the right time. We can take a lot from this performance but it's just one of many games this summer.'

Salah also praised Diaz, calling him 'a top player.' Diaz has been one of the standout stars of the Reds preseason friendly games so far.

'We all know Luis' qualities. He is a brilliant finisher and has so much potential. It's up to him to keep working hard and I'm confident he can make a big difference this season.'

Salah also emphasized the importance of bonding among team-mates during their summer tour, something he believes has gone well.

'We are all enjoying training sessions with the new players and getting to know each other. It's an important part of our preparations, creating these bonds off the pitch that we can use on the pitch to go forward as a team.'
