DENVER (AP) — Nikola Jokic scored 13 of his 32 points in a decisive third quarter, and the Denver Nuggets routed the scuffling Phoenix Suns 117-90 on Monday night.
The Nuggets took control of the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Suns 32-18 and taking a 90-66 lead into the final period.
Jokic also had 10 rebounds and five assists, and his dominance on both ends of the floor was too much for the Suns to handle.
The Suns were led by Devin Booker, who scored 29 points, but it was not enough to overcome the Nuggets' balanced attack.
The win was the third in a row for the Nuggets, who are now 12-3 at home this season.
The loss was the seventh in the last nine games for the Suns, who fell to 10-15 on the road.
The Nuggets shot 55% from the field and made 12 of 29 three-pointers, while the Suns shot just 39% and were 8 of 26 from beyond the arc.
The Nuggets also outrebounded the Suns 46-37 and had 28 assists to Phoenix's 17.
The Suns will look to bounce back from the loss on Wednesday night when they host the Los Angeles Lakers, while the Nuggets will travel to Utah to face the Jazz on Thursday night.
