Oasis fans are eagerly anticipating the band's highly-anticipated reunion shows in the UK, and now, sources close to the band have revealed the two acts set to support the Gallaghers on their epic comeback tour.
According to insiders, the two bands chosen to open for Oasis are none other than The Bluetones and Ocean Colour Scene, both of which have a long history with the Gallaghers.
For those who may not remember, The Bluetones were a staple of the Britpop movement in the 90s, alongside Oasis, and were even lumped in with the so-called 'lad rock' scene that dominated the airwaves during that era. Their catchy, guitar-driven tunes and witty lyrics made them a fan favorite, and they still maintain a loyal following to this day.
As for Ocean Colour Scene, their connection to Oasis runs even deeper. The band's lead singer, Simon Fowler, has been an old friend of the Gallaghers, and his band even supported Oasis on several occasions in the 90s. In fact, Noel Gallagher himself has often cited Ocean Colour Scene as one of his favorite bands, and has even collaborated with them on several projects over the years.
While the official lineup for the Oasis reunion shows has yet to be confirmed, sources say that both The Bluetones and Ocean Colour Scene are a 'done deal' and will be taking to the stage alongside the Gallaghers when they embark on their UK tour. Fans of both bands are no doubt thrilled at the prospect of seeing these two Britpop stalwarts share the stage with one of the most iconic bands of the 90s.
As the excitement builds for the Oasis reunion shows, one thing is for sure: these two supporting acts are sure to bring a healthy dose of nostalgia and British charm to the proceedings, and fans of both bands would be wise to get their tickets ASAP before they sell out.
