The Premier League has long been known for its high levels of competition and intense match days. However, with such high stakes come some unfortunate consequences. Many talented players are finding themselves stuck on the bench, watching their teammates play without being given a chance to shine. In this article, we will take a look at one player from almost every Premier League club who deserves a spot in the starting lineup.
Let's start with Arsenal, where Ethan Nwaneri has been making headlines as the youngest ever player to participate in a Premier League match. Nwaneri broke the record at just 15 years old and has been pushing for more playing time ever since. He's an exciting young prospect and could bring some much-needed pace to the Gunners' midfield.
At Manchester United, one player who could be given more of a chance is Amad Diallo. The Ivorian winger has been performing well in training sessions and could bring some width to the team's attack. With the likes of Jadon Sancho and Antony already competing for a spot on the flanks, Diallo might find it difficult to break into the starting eleven, but his talent cannot be ignored.
Everton have a very talented youngster in their own ranks in the form of Lewis Dobbin. Dobbin has been showing great potential in the youth teams and could be what the Toffees need to give their squad some much-needed depth. He is a hard worker and has a keen eye for goal, which could prove valuable for a team that sometimes struggles in front of goal.
Chelsea's Armando Broja has been out on loan for the past two seasons, but the 21-year-old has shown he can hold his own in the top flight. He's a strong and physical presence up front and could be just what the Blues need to take some pressure off their talismanic striker, Raheem Sterling.
Leicester's James Maddison seems to have it all: vision, passing range, and a keen eye for goal. A string of impressive performances for the Foxes last season made him one of the most talked-about players in the league, yet he often finds himself held back by injuries or out of form teammates. Giving him more creative responsibility could unlock the full potential of Brendan Rodgers' team.
At Liverpool, one player who is often forgotten but deserves more playing time is Fabio Carvalho. A big-money signing from Fulham last summer, Carvalho has all the ingredients to be a top player. However, he is still young, and the likes of Harvey Elliott and Jordan Henderson are often given precedence in the starting lineup.
Unfortunately, Bournemouth do not have anyone on the fringes of their team who deserves to be in the starting lineup. This could be because of the team's lack of depth and their current situation in the league table. Unless they bring in some fresh faces during the transfer window, it seems unlikely we will be seeing any new players emerge to challenge for a starting spot.
Let's move on to Leeds United, who have dark horse Junior Firpo in their ranks. A former Barcelona player, Firpo could offer some much-needed defensive prowess down the left flank and provide support for the wingers further up the pitch.
Tottenham's Emerson Royal could bring an attacking dimension to his side's backline if given the nod by Antonio Conte. The Brazilian has been making waves as a right wing-back and is known for his crossing ability and pace down the flank.
West Ham United's Maxwel Cornet has largely been frozen out of the first team this season despite his impressive goal-scoring record. Manager David Moyes has preferred other players to Cornet, but the Ivorian could bring some much-needed firepower to a Hammers team that has sometimes looked toothless in attack.
Among the more established teams in the league, Newcastle United's Alexander Isak stands out as someone who deserves more opportunities. Although not an out-and-out central striker, Isak has shown an ability to play anywhere across the front line and bring some much-needed goals to the Magpies.
Manchester City have one of the most talented squads in the league, and with the likes of Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden, it's hard to think of too many people who could oust them from their starting berths. One such candidate could be Liam Delap. A prolific goal-scorer in the youth ranks, Delap is building an encouraging case for more time on the big stage and seems likely to feature under Pep Guardiola in the coming seasons.
