Thomas Hall checks in with his review of this week’s ROH TV, and the verdict is in – but is it too little too late for the struggling promotion? As we all know, Ring of Honor has been going through a lot of changes lately, from a new ownership group to a revamped roster, and fans have been waiting with bated breath to see how it all plays out. So, how did this week’s episode of ROH TV stack up?
According to Hall, the show got off to a strong start with a great match between two of the promotion’s top stars. The action was fast-paced and hard-hitting, with both men giving it their all in an effort to come out on top. But as the show wore on, things started to take a turn for the worse – and not just because of the wrestling itself. Hall noted that the production values were lacking, with poor camera work and subpar commentary that took away from the overall viewing experience.
Another issue that Hall had with the show was the lack of depth in the storytelling. While the matches themselves were good, the build-up and pay-off were lacking, leaving fans without a sense of investment in the characters or their storylines. And with ROH’s biggest event of the year just around the corner, this is a problem that needs to be addressed ASAP. After all, if fans aren’t invested in the storylines, they’re not going to care about the big matches – and that can lead to a whole host of problems, from low ticket sales to a lack of engagement on social media.
But despite the issues that Hall had with the show, he still managed to find some bright spots. One of the highlights of the episode was a promo from one of ROH’s top stars, who cut a scathing promo on his opponent that had the crowd on the edge of their seats. It was a great example of how wrestling can be used to tell compelling stories and get fans invested in the characters, and it left Hall feeling hopeful for the future of the promotion.
Of course, one good promo doesn’t make up for all the problems with the show, and Hall made it clear that ROH still has a long way to go before it can be considered a top-tier promotion. But with a new ownership group in place and a renewed focus on building up the roster, there’s definitely potential for growth – and that’s something that fans should be excited about.
So what’s the verdict on this week’s episode of ROH TV? It was a mixed bag, with some great matches and promos that were unfortunately let down by poor production values and a lack of depth in the storytelling. But with a few tweaks and some hard work, there’s no reason why ROH can’t be a major player in the world of professional wrestling. And with Hall on the case, you can be sure that we’ll be keeping a close eye on their progress in the weeks and months to come.
