Rohan Jaitley Crushes Legendary Cricketer to Secure Top DDCA Job, Here's What Happened Next

Rohan Jaitley has been re-elected as the president of the Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) for an unprecedented third term, after he convincingly defeated former Indian cricketer Kirti Azad and Lok Sabha MP in the high-stakes election.

Azad, who had represented India in seven Test matches and several One-Day Internationals (ODIs), was seeking the top job at the DDCA for the first time, but ultimately fell short in his pursuit. Despite the loss, Azad's bid for the presidency highlighted the significant challenges the DDCA has been facing in recent years, particularly with regards to financial mismanagement and governance.

Jaitley, who is the son of the late former Union Minister Arun Jaitley, outmaneuvered Azad with a landslide victory of 1,577 votes to secure his third term. The 35-year-old successful businessman and politician will now continue to steer the DDCA forward, leveraging his experience in administration and cricket.

The DDCA election campaign witnessed heated debates on a range of crucial issues such as player remuneration, infrastructure development, and increasing the number of cricket fields and academies in Delhi. Many of the candidates took advantage of social media to express their opinions and enlist public support for their campaigns.

After securing his re-election, Jaitley thanked the DDCA's members for their continued support. He assured the public that his top priorities will be resolving the financial and governance issues within the organization, providing better facilities and infrastructure for players, and boosting cricket development programs throughout the city.

The association members have huge expectations from Jaitley to improve the functioning of the DDCA and improve the overall conditions of cricket in Delhi.
