Union Minister and Jharkhand BJP election in-charge Shivraj Singh Chouhan has launched a scathing attack on the Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand government, calling it a "Jurm, Murder and Mafia" government. Chouhan's remarks came on Monday, as he heavily criticized the state government for its alleged failure in providing good governance and protecting the law and order situation.
Speaking at a press conference, Chouhan said that the JMM-led government in Jharkhand has totally failed to deliver its promises to the people. He claimed that the law and order situation in the state has deteriorated rapidly and the government has become a haven for crime and corruption.
"The Jharkhand government is not a government of the people, but a government of mismanagement, wrong priorities, and selective approach to administration," Chouhan said. "It has become a symbol of Mafia, Murder, and Jurm."
Chouhan further accused the Jharkhand government of failing to provide job opportunities to the youth and failing to address the pressing issues of corruption, lack of infrastructure, and poor healthcare facilities in the state. He said that the BJP is determined to bring about change in the state and restore its lost glory.
Chouhan's remarks were seen as an attempt by the BJP to gain an upper hand over its opponents ahead of the upcoming elections in the state. The BJP has been trying to capitalise on the alleged failures of the JMM-led government to win the hearts of the voters.
The Jharkhand government has been facing intense criticism for its alleged failure to manage the state's resources and provide basic amenities to the people. The government has also been accused of failing to curb corruption and bring the perpetrators to book.
Despite these criticisms, the Hemant Soren government has maintained that it has achieved significant progress in the state since coming to power. The government has cited its flagship schemes and welfare programmes as examples of its efforts to improve the lives of the people.
However, Chouhan's latest remarks have highlighted the deep divisions within the state's politics and the run-up to the elections is expected to be intense and closely contested.
