At such a young age, his impressive performance in his rookie campaign is a testament to his innate ability to read the game and find the back of the net. Cougars' Carrels, who hails from the small Manitoba community of Cypress River, will now take on the world's top under-17 players at the U-17 World Hockey Challenge.

The tournament is considered a premier event for the world's top young hockey players, providing an opportunity for athletes to showcase their talents at the international level and fine-tune their game. Selection to the U-17 World Hockey Challenge is a distinction reserved for only a select few players worldwide, and as such, the Cougars organization couldn't be more thrilled with the news of their player's selection.
