Stars Shine Bright In Thrilling 4-1 Victory Over Red Wings

Jason Robertson had a goal and an assist as the Dallas Stars defeated the visiting Detroit Red Wings 4-1 on Sunday night.

Matej Blumel, Mavrick Bourque and Ty Dellandrea also scored for the Stars, who improved to 12-3-1 in their last 16 games.

The Stars jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period, with Blumel opening the scoring at 7:10 of the first period. Robertson made it 2-0 at 10:23, and Bourque scored at 19:04 to give the Stars a three-goal cushion after 20 minutes.

Dellandrea increased the advantage to 4-0 at 5:14 of the second period, and that was more than enough offense for Scott Wedgewood, who made 31 saves to improve to 7-5-2 on the season.

Wedgewood's shutout bid was foiled by Red Wings forward Jonatan Berggren, who scored his seventh goal of the season at 15:07 of the second.

The Red Wings, who are 3-7-2 in their last 12 games, got 22 saves from Ville Husso but couldn't muster much offense against a strong defensive effort by the Stars.

The Stars, who are in second place in the Central Division, have now won 11 of their last 14 home games against the Red Wings.
