KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 12 — Malaysian professional singles shuttler, Lee Zii Jia missed the chance to defend his title at the Arctic Open following a shocking loss in the quarterfinals. The second-seeded Malaysian sensation was expected to easily brush aside his opponents in the tournament, but things didn't go as planned for the 2022 champion.
Zii Jia, who was undefeated in the group stages, failed to bring his A-game when it mattered most. Despite his valiant efforts, the Malaysian shuttler was unable to outmaneuver his opponent in a thrilling match that saw him fall short in a hard-fought battle.
On the other hand, Malaysian mixed doubles pair Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan continued their fine form in the tournament. The pair sailed smoothly into the semifinals with an impressive win over their opponents in the quarterfinals, bringing joy to the Malaysian camp.
The semifinals victory marked another milestone in the impressive partnership of Pearly and Thinaah. With their sights set on the title, the pair is now more determined than ever to bring home the coveted championship.
As the Arctic Open heats up, badminton fans across the globe are eagerly awaiting the next round of matches to see which players will shine bright and claim the top spots.
